Karamoja Youth Empowerment Network (KAYEN Organization) is an indigenous NGO founded in 2011, Fully Registered with URSB-80034261104640, NGO Bureau-INDR173086691NB, Data Protection office (PDPO-202512-9304) and URA-1050074805. Now has its Head office in Nabilatuk District, Lolachat sub county Headquarters with a satellite office in Loregae Sub county, Nakapiripirit district to support and complement the work of other development actors and government programs in promoting peace, sustainable livelihoods, and rights for marginalised communities in Karamoja

Strategic Interventions

Karamoja Youth Empowerment Network (KAYEN) delivers community-based services in Karamoja, Uganda, including youth skills training, women’s economic empowerment, education support, child protection, nutrition and health justice, climate-resilient livelihoods, and human rights promotion for vulnerable populations.

Livelihood & Food Security Support

KAYEN works to strengthen household and community livelihoods by promoting food security, climate-smart farming practices, and environment management approaches. This includes support for agricultural activities that can boost nutrition and incomes for vulnerable families.

Education & Skills Development

Karamoja Youth Empowerment Network (KAYEN) supports education and skills development to empower youth and women with knowledge and practical abilities needed for self-reliance and long-term livelihoods in Karamoja, Uganda.

Protection & Governance

The organisation provides activities focused on human rights awareness, gender-based violence prevention, and child protection, helping communities recognise, prevent, and respond to rights violations and harmful practices

Health Justice Initiatives

KAYEN engages communities around health equity, including nutrition education, HIV/TB prevention, reproductive health awareness, and other health-related advocacy aimed at improving access to health services and outcome
